Last updated: August 13, 2026, covers all four BlueIsCalm apps (ToolBelt for Excel, Services Manager, SQL Runner, and Quick Lookup) and the "Ask BlueIsCalm" chat widget on this site.
The short version
None of the four apps collect, store, or transmit your data, they all run entirely on your own device. The one exception is the "Ask BlueIsCalm" chat widget on this website, which does send your typed question to Google's Gemini API to generate an answer, see below for details.
ToolBelt for Excel
Your spreadsheet data
All tools (trimming, converting, duplicate detection, lookups, and so on) read and modify cells entirely within Excel on your device or browser session. Your workbook contents are never sent to us or to any third party.
Services Manager
Your system data
Services Manager reads and manages Windows services locally on your PC. It does not collect telemetry, crash reports, or usage data, and makes no network calls of its own. The only outside communication involved is the Microsoft Store's standard license check when the app starts, which is handled by Windows itself, not by us.
SQL Runner
Your database connections
SQL Runner connects only to the SQL Server instance you specify, that connection goes
directly from your device to your database, never through BlueIsCalm. Passwords are used
to connect and are never saved. Recent connections (server, database, auth mode, username
, never your password) are stored locally at %AppData%\SQLRunner\connections.json.
Query results are written to your own Temp folder or sent to a local Excel instance;
none of it leaves your device. There is no telemetry.
Quick Lookup
Your files
Quick Lookup only reads the reference files you point it at (.txt, .md, .csv, .xlsx, .docx, .pdf) to search inside them, entirely on your device. File contents and search results never leave your PC, and are never sent to us or to any third party. There is no telemetry.
Ask BlueIsCalm (chat widget)
Your chat questions
The mascot chat widget on this site tries an AI-powered answer first. If you type a question, that text is sent to Google's Gemini API (free tier) to generate a response, it is not sent to any BlueIsCalm server or database, we do not log or store what you type. On Gemini's free tier, Google may use these questions to improve their own products; see Google's Gemini API terms for details. Avoid typing anything personal or sensitive into the chat box. To keep this free, the widget has a daily usage cap tracked as an anonymous request counter (no personal data, just a number per day); once that cap is reached the widget automatically falls back to a scripted, canned-answer mode that runs entirely in your browser with no data sent anywhere.
Accounts and personal information
None of these apps require an account, sign-up, or personal information from us directly. Purchasing Services Manager or Quick Lookup (and their 7-day trials) is handled entirely by the Microsoft Store under Microsoft's own privacy policy, we never see your payment details.
Hosting
This website's static files (HTML, JavaScript, icons) are delivered from Cloudflare Pages, which may log standard technical request data (such as IP address) to serve and protect the site, as any web host does. We do not receive or use analytics from this. The chat widget's backend runs as a small Cloudflare Pages Function that forwards your question to Gemini and tracks the anonymous daily counter described above, it does not have its own database and stores nothing beyond that counter.
Donations
The optional "Buy me a coffee" link opens Ko-fi in your browser. Any payment is processed by Ko-fi/PayPal under their own privacy policies; we never see payment details.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address.
